The 07-Day National Level Faculty Development Program on Research Mastery: Scopus Publication, Systematic Literature Review (SLR) & Citation Tools was successfully hosted by DKTE Society’s Textile & Engineering Institute, Maharashtra, in collaboration with Scrollwell, from August 03 to August 09, 2026.

The program aimed to strengthen participants’ research and publication skills. Through expert-led sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants explored Scopus publications, research gap identification, systematic literature reviews, scholarly databases, reference management, manuscript writing, and journal submission.

Event Highlights

The FDP covered the research and publication journey, beginning with research gap identification and topic development. Participants explored Scopus metrics, journal selection, publication trends, and ways to identify and avoid predatory journals.

The programme also introduced Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and the PRISMA framework. Participants learned practical methods for developing search strategies, using Scopus, screening relevant studies, and organizing research evidence.

Sessions on Mendeley and Zotero helped participants improve reference management and citation practices. The programme also covered research manuscript writing, publication ethics, plagiarism awareness, responsible AI use, peer review, and journal submission strategies.

Participation Details

The FDP witnessed active participation from faculty members, researchers, doctoral scholars, postgraduate students, and academic professionals from diverse institutions and disciplines.

Participants actively engaged in practical demonstrations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions throughout the seven-day program. They also discussed common challenges related to literature reviews, manuscript preparation, journal selection, and publication. The online format allowed participants from different institutions and regions to attend the sessions conveniently. It also supported continuous interaction between participants and resource persons.

Outcomes

By the end of the FDP, participants developed a stronger understanding of modern research and publication practices. They gained practical knowledge of research gap identification, Scopus-based literature searches, systematic literature reviews, PRISMA, and evidence synthesis.

Participants also improved their skills in reference management using Mendeley and Zotero. Furthermore, they strengthened their understanding of manuscript writing, journal selection, publication ethics, plagiarism prevention, and peer review.

As a result, participants gained a clearer roadmap for planning research, preparing manuscripts, selecting suitable journals, and developing a long-term publication strategy.

Feedback

Participants appreciated the practical and research-focused structure of the FDP. Many found the programme useful for understanding the research journey, from identifying a research gap to preparing a manuscript for publication.

The sessions on Scopus, SLR, PRISMA, Mendeley, Zotero, and journal selection received positive feedback. Participants also valued the practical demonstrations and examples shared throughout the program. Overall, the FDP provided participants with relevant knowledge and practical strategies to strengthen their research and publication practices.
