The TNQ Inspiring Science Awards (ISA) aim to recognize and reward excellence in life sciences research conducted in India. These awards encourage early-career researchers to pursue high-quality, impactful work.

TNQ Technologies launched ISA in January 2017 during The TNQ Distinguished Lectures in Life Sciences in Bengaluru. The initiative, conceptualized with guidance from Professor Anuranjan Anand of JNCASR, seeks to motivate young Indian scientists to pursue original research.

The awards highlight creative, rigorous, and innovative contributions, providing a national platform for recognition.

Eligibility Criteria for TNQ ISA 2026

Researchers must meet the following requirements to participate in TNQ Inspiring Science Awards:

• Applicants should be PhD candidates, recent PhD graduates, or postdoctoral fellows within four years of completing their postdoctoral program.
• The research paper must:
  • Be first published online or in print between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025.
  • Be peer-reviewed and full-length. Only recognized journal publications qualify.
  • Originate from research conducted at an Indian university or research institution.
• Papers with co-authors qualify, but only the submitting author receives the award.
• Editorials, reviews, perspectives, opinions, and preprints are ineligible.
• Applicants must submit a PDF of the paper and a proof of publication link that is publicly accessible.

These requirements ensure that the award highlights high-quality and original research conducted in India.

Evaluation Process

The TNQ ISA jury consists of around 40 eminent scientists, divided into four geographic panels to avoid conflicts of interest.

• Each paper undergoes evaluation by at least three jury members.
• The top two papers from each panel move to a second stage, where panel chairs and two independent international scientists re-evaluate them.
• The process culminates in the selection of one winner who demonstrates exceptional originality, scientific rigor, and impact.

This process guarantees fairness, transparency, and high academic standards.

Applications that do not meet the requirements or use inaccessible publication links will not be considered.
