Anusandhan National Research Foundation-Research Grant

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), established under the ANRF Act 2023, has launched the Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG) scheme to provide funding support to researchers from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The initiative aims to empower underrepresented researchers by offering financial support, flexibility, and opportunities to advance their work in frontier areas of science and engineering.

Objectives of the Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG)

1. Provide a platform for SC/ST researchers to undertake impactful research in science and engineering.
2. Foster capacity building for researchers to transition into mainstream research programs.
3. Align research efforts with national priorities while promoting equity and inclusivity.

The IRG builds on and enhances the Empowerment and Equity Opportunities for Excellence in Science (EMEQ) scheme, previously managed by SERB, offering improved support and flexible norms.

How to Apply?

Follow the steps below to successfully apply for the Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG):

Step 1: Visit the ANRF Portal

Go to the official website of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).

Step 2: Create an Account

1. Click on the “Apply Online” button on the homepage.
2. Register with your email ID and create a password.
3. Verify your email to activate your account.

Step 3: Complete the Online Application Form

1. Log in to your account using your credentials.
2. Fill out the application form, including:
   • Personal and institutional details.
   • Research proposal details.
   • Budget estimates.
   • Expected outcomes and project deliverables.
3. Attach the required documents, such as:
   • Proof of SC/ST category.
   • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
   • Relevant publications or evidence of research experience.
   • Endorsement from the host institution.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents

Ensure all supporting documents (e.g., research proposal, budget details) are in PDF format and do not exceed the file size limit specified on the portal.

Step 5: Submit the Application

1. Review the application carefully before submission.
2. Click on “Submit” to finalize your application.

Step 6: Track Application Status

After submission, you can track your application status through your ANRF account dashboard.

Application Deadline

• The last date for submission of applications is Friday, February 7, 2025.
• Late submissions will not be considered.

Funding Details

• Funding Amount: Up to ₹60 lakh plus overheads for a period of three years.
• Utilization Flexibility:
  • Resources under recurring heads can be used flexibly.
  • Enhanced travel, contingency, and overhead charges.
  • Expenses related to open-access publications and patent filings are supported.
  • International travel is allowed for project-related activities.
