About Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat
SVNIT Surat, originally established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVRCET) in 1961, was created to provide high-quality technical education. It initially offered Bachelor’s programs in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. In 2002, the institute was upgraded to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology with the status of a deemed university, and in 2007, it was granted the status of Institution of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position Overview
- Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Project Title: “Highly Flexible, Self-Recoverable and Self-Lubricated Ionic Liquid Infused Super Hydrophobic MOF Based Coatings with High Anti-Icing Performance in Aerospace Applications”
- Sponsoring Agency: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)
- Location: SVNIT, Ichchhanath, Dumas Road, Surat, Gujarat
- Duration: One year
- Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- per month + 18% HRA
This project focuses on developing advanced anti-icing coatings for aerospace applications, combining material science, chemistry, and engineering research.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry or an equivalent degree in Chemistry with First Division.
- Examination Qualification: GATE or NET in Chemistry or a relevant subject.
- Skills & Qualities: Strong laboratory skills, research aptitude, and the ability to work on experimental projects in material science.
