About Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, formerly known as the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU), was established on 12th June 1964 in Hyderabad. It was inaugurated on 20th March 1965 by Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then Prime Minister of India. Later, Smt. Indira Gandhi, also a former Prime Minister, inaugurated the university’s main building on 23rd June 1966.

In 1996, the university was renamed in honor of Acharya Nayakulu Gogineni Ranga, an eminent parliamentarian, educationist, kisan leader, and freedom fighter. Today, ANGRAU stands as one of India’s leading agricultural universities, focusing on advanced education, research, and extension services in agriculture and allied sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Teaching Associate position should meet the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, or
  • Master’s degree in the relevant subject with a strong academic record.
  • A Bachelor’s degree of 4/5 years in Agriculture or an equivalent field, with at least first-division marks or an equivalent grade point average.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching or research, supported by evidence such as fellowship, associateship, training, or similar engagements.
  • At least one published research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) or NAAS-rated journal (≥4.0 rating).
  • For candidates with postgraduate degrees in basic sciences, NET qualification is mandatory.
