The 07 Days Faculty Development Program on Data Analysis using SPSS was successfully conducted from March 09 to March 15, 2026. The program aimed to equip faculty members, researchers, and academic professionals with practical skills in statistical data analysis using SPSS. It focused on enabling participants to handle datasets efficiently, apply statistical techniques, and interpret results for academic research and informed decision-making.
Moreover, the FDP created a structured learning environment where participants explored both fundamental and advanced statistical methods. Through interactive sessions and guided demonstrations, the program effectively connected theoretical concepts with real-world research applications.
Event Highlights
The FDP covered a comprehensive curriculum designed to build strong analytical capabilities among participants. It began with an introduction to SPSS, including data coding, tabulation, and data cleaning techniques. Participants then explored descriptive statistics, where they learned measures of central tendency, dispersion, and graphical representation of data.
As the program progressed, sessions focused on correlation and regression analysis, helping participants understand relationships between variables and build predictive models. In addition, the FDP introduced advanced techniques such as factor analysis and cluster analysis, enabling participants to uncover patterns and group data effectively.
Furthermore, the final sessions emphasized project-based learning, where participants applied statistical techniques to real-world datasets and interpreted their findings. Throughout the program, Dr. Prabal Chakraborty shared valuable insights from his extensive academic and industry experience, ensuring clarity, practical relevance, and strong conceptual understanding.
Participation Details
The FDP witnessed participation from faculty members and academic professionals across multiple disciplines. The online mode ensured accessibility while maintaining a highly interactive learning environment. Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and worked on hands-on exercises during the sessions.
In addition, a structured Learning Outcome Test was conducted during the program to reinforce key concepts and assess participants’ understanding. This approach helped learners track their progress and clarify doubts in real time. Certificates were awarded to participants who attended the sessions and successfully completed the assessment requirements.
Outcomes
By the end of the FDP, participants developed a strong foundation in statistical data analysis using SPSS. They gained the ability to organize and clean datasets, apply various statistical techniques, and interpret outputs with confidence.
Additionally, the program enhanced participants’ capability to use data-driven insights in academic research, report writing, and decision-making processes. The FDP also improved their understanding of advanced analytical methods, contributing to better research quality and academic productivity.
Feedback
Participants appreciated the structured delivery, clarity of explanations, and hands-on approach of the sessions. Many highlighted that the program simplified complex statistical concepts and made SPSS more accessible for practical use.
Moreover, the real-world examples, interactive discussions, and project-based learning approach were particularly well received. The guidance provided by the resource person helped participants build confidence in applying statistical techniques in their own research work.
Acknowledgments
The organizing team extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Prabal Chakraborty for delivering insightful and engaging sessions throughout the FDP. His expertise and practical approach significantly contributed to the success of the program.
The team also thanks all participants for their active involvement and enthusiasm, which played a key role in making the FDP interactive and impactful.
