Technical Assistant Position at IISER Pune
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is inviting applications for the position of Technical Assistant (Video Production) on a temporary and contractual basis. This position is part of the Science Media Centre (SMC) under the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). Job Profile
The Technical Assistant IISER Pune will be responsible for:
- Producing videos, including pre-production, production, and post-production for the institute.
- Coordinating with researchers and subject experts to plan and execute videography and editing for science videos.
- Post-production tasks such as editing, color grading, and audio work.
- Using technical equipment like cameras, gimbals, lights, and specialized software.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of the institute’s audio-visual equipment.
- Assisting in capacity building through training and multimedia-related work.
- Serving as a videographer and photographer for institute events and projects.
Eligibility Criteria
Criteria | Details |

Educational Qualification | – Postgraduate degree in Basic/Applied Sciences with Science Communication training OR |
| Experience | Minimum 1 year of proven experience in science communication and video editing as per job requirements. |
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with camera and broadcasting equipment (e.g., HD-SDI camera, audio mixer).
- Strong knowledge of video/photo editing software and graphic design tools.
- Understanding of e-learning platforms such as NPTEL, MOOCs, and multimedia content creation for diverse platforms.
- Leadership and communication skills for training students and staff.
Salary and Benefits
- Emoluments: ₹40,000/- per month (consolidated).
Job Duration
- Initial appointment for 3 months, extendable based on performance and project continuation.
