Job Titles and Departments

The university is currently hiring faculty for the departments listed below:

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Faculty – Marine

Candidates must hold a MEO Class – 1 (Motor) Certificate of Competency from DG Shipping and have a minimum of six months of sailing experience at the management level under STCW. A valid VICT or TOTA certificate is also required.
Moreover, candidates with prior teaching experience at Maritime Training Institutes and additional certifications such as AECS or TSTA will receive preference. Apply for Recruitment at Indian Maritime University.

Faculty – ECE

Applicants should possess a UG degree in EEE or ECE, and a PG or integrated PG degree in Electronics or a related discipline. Experience with PLC and Automation Control is essential, along with a VICT or TOTA certificate.
In addition, candidates with NET/SLET/SET qualifications, AECS/TSTA credentials, or UGC-standard publications are highly desirable.

Faculty – Mathematics

To qualify, applicants must have a strong academic record with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in both UG and PG or integrated PG degrees.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD, NET/SLET/SET credentials, or research work recognized by UGC.

Faculty – Nautical Science

A valid Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency from DG Shipping and at least six months of sailing experience at the management level are essential. VICT or TOTA certification is mandatory.
Furthermore, applicants with teaching experience at Maritime Training Institutes and TSTA certification will be preferred.

Faculty – General Management

Eligible candidates should hold a UG degree with a minimum of 55% marks and a PG qualification in M.Com or MBA (ideally with a focus on Marketing).
Possessing a PhD, qualifying exams like NET/SLET/SET, or having published academic work will enhance the profile.

Faculty – Computer Science

Applicants must secure at least 55% in their UG degree, followed by a PG in MCA, M.Tech (CS/IT), or M.Sc. (CS/IT).
Candidates with a doctoral degree, research publications, or qualifying competitive exams such as NET/SLET/SET will have an added advantage.

Faculty – Logistics & SCM

The minimum requirement is a UG degree with 55% marks, along with a PG in MBA or M.Com with a specialization in Logistics, SCM, Transportation Management, or International Business.
Preference will be extended to candidates with a PhD, NET/SLET/SET qualifications, and published research in related fields.
