The National Institute of Technology, Agartala (NITA), is one of India’s leading technical institutions in the northeastern region. Established originally as Tripura Engineering College in 1965, the institute was elevated to the status of a National Institute of Technology in 2006 under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Since then, NITA has grown rapidly to become an Institute of National Importance, as recognized by an act of Parliament.
The institute plays a significant role in promoting higher education, innovation, and technical expertise in the northeast. Alongside NIT Silchar and IIT Guwahati, it is considered a hub of academic excellence in the region. Admission to NITA follows the centrally organized Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), ensuring a rigorous and merit-based intake process. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
| Qualification | – First-Class Master’s Degree with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline of Engineering. <br> – Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis with valid documentary proof may also be considered. |
Salary Structure
The institute offers remuneration based on the level of appointment and service status.
