National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland – Recruitment Notification

The National Institute of Technology, Nagaland is an Institute of National Importance established by the Government of India under the 11th Five-Year Plan in 2009. Located at Chumukedima, Dimapur, Nagaland, the institute commenced its academic activities in 2010 under the mentorship of NIT Silchar, Assam. Initially functioning from the NIT Silchar campus, NIT Nagaland moved to its permanent site in January 2012. Situated in a scenic hilly terrain, the institute is dedicated to fostering excellence in technical education, research, and innovation, contributing to the development of the North-Eastern region and the nation.

Project Details

Title of Research Project:
Design and Development of GaN Nanowire-based High Performance UV Photosensor for Medical and Military Applications.

Employment Type:
Contractual, for the duration of the project.

Project Duration:
Three years or until the project’s completion, whichever occurs earlier.

Positions and Eligibility Criteria

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Qualification:
  M.E. / M.Tech / M.S. / M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Nanotechnology / Electronics.
  Must have GATE / NET qualification.
  Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) in both UG and PG degrees.
• Salary: ₹37,000 per month + 9% HRA.

2. Project Associate–I

• Qualification:
  B.E. / B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical and Electronics / Electronics and Instrumentation, or MSc in a relevant field.
  Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in UG and PG degrees.
• Salary Structure:
  • ₹31,000 + 9% HRA for candidates with GATE / NET or national-level exam qualification.
  • ₹25,000 + 9% HRA for others.

3. Project Associate–II

• Qualification:
  B.E. / B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical and Electronics / Electronics and Instrumentation, or MSc in a relevant field.
  Minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in UG and PG degrees.
  Experience: Minimum 2 years in Research & Development in academic, industrial, or scientific organizations.
• Salary Structure:
  • ₹35,000 + 9% HRA for candidates with GATE / NET or equivalent qualification.
  • ₹28,000 + 9% HRA for others.
