Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy (BASE) Fellowship Program

The Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy (BASE) Fellowship Program is a transformative initiative by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, in collaboration with the Indo-U.S. Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF). This program addresses critical challenges in clean energy, environmental protection, and energy security by nurturing future innovators and researchers in the field of solar energy.

About the BASE Fellowship Program

This program is designed to foster collaboration between Indian and American researchers, enabling knowledge exchange and access to world-class research facilities in leading U.S. institutions. By promoting capacity building and research in solar energy, the program aims to build long-term R&D linkages between India and the USA.

Who Can Apply?

1. Student Internships:
   • Eligibility:
     • Indian citizens pursuing a Ph.D. (full-time) in solar energy at a recognized institution in India.
     • Age Limit: Up to 32 years.
   • Internship Duration: 3–6 months.
2. Fellowships:
   • Eligibility:
     • Indian citizens with a Ph.D. and considerable research experience in solar energy.
     • Must hold a permanent position in a public-funded R&D lab, S&T institution, or a recognized university/college in India.
     • Applicants should have published research in high-impact journals and be actively pursuing independent research.
     • Age Limit: Up to 40 years.
   • Fellowship Duration: 3–12 months.
