The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, is inviting applications for the position of Project Scientist-I under the DBT project titled “Plan Genomics, Gene Regulatory Network and Novel RNA Molecules” as part of the Establishment of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Centre (BIC). About the Position

  • Job Title: Project Scientist-I
  • Project Supervisor: Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Scientist, NIPGR
  • Employment Type: Full-time, temporary, and co-terminus with the project.
  • Emoluments: ₹56,000/- plus HRA (as per DST/DBT norms).
  • Duration: Initial appointment for one year, extendable based on performance and project requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification– M.Tech (Engineering/Technology) or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Plant Molecular Biology, or related fields.

| Experience | – Research experience in Bioinformatics.
– At least two first-authored publications in peer-reviewed international journals (desirable). |
| Age Limit | Maximum 35 years. |


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research as per the project’s requirements under Dr. Shailesh Kumar’s supervision.
  • Work collaboratively on bioinformatics-related tasks and analyses.
