Scrollwell, in collaboration with Government College Ropar, successfully conducted a seven-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “A Systematic Way of Research Paper Writing” from January 12 to 18, 2026. The program aimed to equip faculty members with end-to-end skills for academic research, from problem identification to successful publication in reputed journals.

The FDP combined theoretical insights with practical exercises, enabling participants to enhance research formulation, data analysis, ethics, manuscript writing, and journal selection. It also provided guidance on emerging research technologies and reference management tools.

Program Highlights

Throughout the FDP, participants were introduced to a structured approach for identifying research problems and formulating strong research objectives. In addition, sessions on literature review helped participants learn systematic search strategies using Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar.

Furthermore, practical sessions on SPSS enabled participants to understand quantitative data analysis. Topics such as descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and result interpretation were explained with clarity. Alongside this, sessions on research ethics and plagiarism strengthened awareness of responsible research practices.

The program also emphasized manuscript writing using MS Word. Additionally, reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote were demonstrated. Finally, participants received clear guidance on journal selection and the publication process.

Participation Details

The program witnessed active participation from faculty across various disciplines. Participants engaged enthusiastically in live demonstrations, interactive exercises, and practical assignments. Many shared their research experiences, contributing to dynamic discussions and peer learning.

Outcomes

By the end of the FDP, participants were able to:

  • Formulate research problems and hypotheses with clarity
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews and identify research gaps
  • Perform quantitative analysis using SPSS and interpret results effectively
  • Apply ethical practices in research and avoid plagiarism
