Duration: 1 Hour Daily
Participants: Educators, researchers, and postgraduate students from institutions across India

Scrollwell successfully conducted a 03 Day Scopus Workshop on Research Discovery, Scopus AI and Quality Journal Selection from January 29 to January 31, 2026, in online mode via Zoom. The workshop was designed to equip educators, researchers, and postgraduate students with practical knowledge of navigating the Scopus database, using AI-powered tools for literature discovery, evaluating journal quality, and enhancing research visibility. The program aimed to address common challenges faced by researchers in literature search, journal selection, and publication decision-making.
Event Highlights
The workshop began with an overview of Scopus fundamentals, including indexing standards and document types. In addition, participants explored differences between Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. Live demonstrations helped them understand advanced search techniques using Boolean operators and filters.
Next, the sessions introduced Scopus AI for literature discovery. Participants learned how AI-generated summaries, keyword suggestions, and trend analysis tools support efficient literature reviews. Consequently, researchers gained clarity on identifying emerging research areas.
Additionally, the workshop covered quality journal selection and evaluation. Participants learned how to use the Scopus Sources page and interpret key metrics such as CiteScore, SNIP, SJR, and Quartiles. Therefore, they were better equipped to avoid predatory and cloned journals.
Finally, the sessions focused on author profile optimization and citation impact. Participants learned how to create and correct Scopus author profiles. They also explored citation tracking and h-index basics to improve research visibility.
Participation Details
The program received participation from faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students representing various academic institutions across India. The sessions witnessed consistent attendance across all three days. Participants actively engaged through live discussions, practical demonstrations, and interactive question-and-answer segments.
Outcomes
Participants developed confidence in navigating and searching the Scopus database effectively. They acquired practical skills in using Scopus AI for literature discovery and trend analysis. The workshop enabled participants to evaluate Scopus-indexed journals using standard metrics and shortlist suitable journals for publication. Awareness regarding ethical research practices, avoidance of predatory journals, and author profile optimization was significantly enhanced.
Feedback
Participants expressed appreciation for the practical orientation of the sessions and the clarity in explaining complex concepts related to journal metrics and indexing. The structured approach to journal evaluation and real-time demonstrations was highlighted as particularly beneficial for ongoing and future research work.
