The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, is inviting applications from eligible students for its prestigious Summer Internship Program 2025. This is a unique opportunity for students with academic excellence to gain hands-on experience in the formulation and implementation of India’s Foreign Trade Policy.
About the Internship
The DGFT Internship Programme has been running successfully for years, offering scholars from top institutions a chance to engage with public policy, economics, law, finance, and management at a national level. Interns will interact directly with senior officials and contribute to research, analysis, and policy recommendations.
Objectives of the Internship
- To familiarize interns with foreign trade policymaking at both macro and micro levels.
- To enable critical policy analysis by combining academic insights with real-world trade governance.

Eligibility Criteria

Application Process

Note:
- A permission letter from the Head of Department or Supervisor is mandatory for students applying during their coursework.
- Submission of CV is compulsory via the Google Form.
Internship Requirements
- Declaration of Secrecy: Interns must sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Final Report: Interns are required to submit a report or paper at the end of the internship.
- Certificate: Issued upon successful completion and satisfactory evaluation by the division head.
Termination Policy
- DGFT reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time without providing a reason.
- Interns may also resign with a 15-day prior notice.
