Position Summary

The Program Assistant will coordinate the Abhijit Sen Rural Internship Program, which provides university students with a hands-on opportunity to understand rural India’s socio-economic challenges. This role requires strong communication, project coordination, and documentation skills. The selected candidate will work closely with interns, academic mentors, grassroots organizations, and the NFI team to ensure the program’s success. Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Coordination: Supervise and support university students in conducting surveys and data collection related to agriculture and rural issues.
  • Workshops & Seminars: Plan and conduct awareness sessions at universities about key agricultural and rural development topics.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare policy briefs, research summaries, and reports on program findings.
  • Partnership Communication: Act as the main point of contact between local partner organizations and the internship program.
  • Data Collection Support: Guide students in gathering socio-economic data for their research.
  • Logistical & Financial Coordination: Manage program-related expenses and logistics.
  • Other Tasks: Assist the Programme Lead with additional responsibilities as required.

Eligibility & Skills Required

RequirementDetails
Educational QualificationPostgraduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, or Social Sciences (preferred).
ExperienceMinimum 2-3 years in the development sector, with at least 1 year in programme coordination.
Technical SkillsFamiliarity with data analysis tools (preferred).
Travel RequirementWillingness to travel outside Delhi for program-related activities.
Communication SkillsStrong written and verbal communication with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
Monitoring & EvaluationPrior experience in M&E and reporting is an advantage.
