Junior Research Fellow at Sharda University

Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DBT-funded project. This is a unique opportunity for motivated candidates to work on cutting-edge research in CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing for improving the yield and nutritional quality of Indian oilseed mustard.

  • Title: CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing for improving yield and nutritional quality of Indian oilseed mustard

  • Principal Investigator: Prof. Sachin Teotia, Department of Biotechnology, Sharda University

This is a multi-institutional project, and while most of the work will be conducted at Sharda University’s state-of-the-art molecular biology and plant tissue culture facilities, some experiments will be carried out at NIPGR, New Delhi.


Position Details

  • Job Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Duration:
    • Initial Appointment: One year, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance
    • Maximum Duration: Three years (co-terminus with the project)
    • Start Date: January 1, 2025
  • Salary: ₹37,000/- + 9% HRA per month (Consolidated)

Educational QualificationM.Sc. or equivalent degree in Botany, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Agricultural Sciences, Plant Sciences, or Genomics.
Additional RequirementsMust have qualified at least one of the following:
